Sagrada Familia

Located in Eixample, El Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia better know as La Sagrada Familia, is one of the most impressive architectural master piece of Barcelona. Designed by Gaudi in 1883, the Construction of this huge Catholic Temple will be still on until 2026, hundred years after Gaudi’s Death in 1926. The Sagrada Familia is rich in Christian symbolism as Gaudi intent the church to be the last great sanctuary of Christendom.
Gaudi dedicated 31 years of its life, 15 entirely to its project and died shortly after the construction of the first of the 18 towers of the Sagrada Familia called for, representing the twelve apostles, the four evangelists, the Virgin Mary and, the tallest, Jesus Christ.
From 2005, The Sagrada Familia is part of the Unesco World Patrimony. The temple is composed with three main Façade, the Nativity at the east, passion at west and Glory to the south. You can reach the top of the Sagrada Familia, by climbing one of the towers of the Nativity Façade and appreciate a great Barcelona Skyline.
If you are architecture fan, you can hire a guide and discover all faces of the Temple. If you appreciate Gaudi’s work, we recommend you also to visit Park Guell, Casa Batllo or Casa Mila (La Pedrera).
