The Gothic Cathedral of Santa Eulalia is a monument of a great historical and artistic interest. Situated in Gothic District not too far from the Ramblas the cathedral also called La Seu host the archibishop of Barcelona. On the same place sat an early Christian church in the 4th century, but the gothic construction you can see today was built in 1298 and its facade was finished in 1890 in a Neo gothic style. This holy place is dedicated to Eulalia de Barcelona, a young virgin according to the history suffered martyrdom during Roman ocupation. His body is burried into the cathedral crypt and can be visited. On the side, you can access to the cloister where 13 white geese are kept following the myth related to the 13th, date Santa Eulalia was murdered.
