Stretched between Plaza Catalunya and Colon Statue, Las Ramblas is a city symbol for locals and tourists. Flowers and animal stalls, cafes terraces, artists, crowed the street all day and night long. For 1,2 km Las Ramblas is composed of five small streets: Rambla de Canaletes, Rambla dels Estudis, Rambla de Sant Josep, Rambla dels Caputxins and Rambla de Santa Monica. A legend says that if you drink out of the Fountain of Canaletes, we will keep coming back to Barcelona. The Rambla de Sant Josep features a mosaic of Joan Miro. Walking down, you can also access many sights such La Boqueria, Liceu Theatre, the Wax Museum, Santa Monica Art Center, Plaza Real, Erotic Museum. You will also appreciate many modernist building.On each side you can also enter both Barri Gothic and Raval district, the old Barcelona Town where you can shop or try Catalan cuisine. Because of its big influence, La Ramblas is a prime target for pickpockets and tourists trap; avoid eating in restaurants located on the Ramblas. It is crowded, expenses and do not offer best quality. |
