The colon monument is the most famous statue of Barcelona. Symbol of the discovery of the New world among the 15th century, The monument has been built for the Universal exhibition of Barcelona in 1888 by the Sculptor, Rafael Atche. Located at the end of the Ramblas, the monument of 60 meters surrounded by lions, represent Cristobal Colon pointing the sea. Inside the column there is an elevator to climb it and have a panoramic view of Barcelona old town.
