Lluís Domènech i Montaner born in Barcelona in 1850 has been a highly influent Spanish architect but also a prominent catalan politician. Better know as a modernist achitect, Domenech played an important rôle in defining the Modernist architecture in Barcelona. Its style is characterized by a mixture of rationalism and Spanish-Arabic architecture, of mosaic, ceramics and stained glasses. You can observe it in The Palau de la Musica Catalan, one of its master pièce. For the international exhibition of 1888, he built el Castillo de los Tres Dragones, actual Museo de Zoología. We can still today observe Domenech famous buildings all over town such el Hospital San Pau, Editorial Montaner i Simón, actual Fundación Antoni Tàpies, la Casa Lleó Morera on Paseo de Gracia or the also well know luxury hotel of Casa Fuster.
